The 2020 Jeep Renegade

The Renegade has two rows that can seat up to five people and offer a generous amount of head- and legroom. Cloth upholstery is standard, while heated front seats and leather upholstery are available. This small Jeep has plenty of cargo space, providing 18.5 cubic feet of space behind the rear seats—50.8 cubes when the seats are folded flat. This amount of space is on par with other vehicles in the Renegade's class. 

A Uconnect infotainment system with a 5.0-inch touch screen is standard, as well as Bluetooth, voice control, a USB port, and six speakers. Available upgrades include a 7- or 8.4-inch touch screen display, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, a nine-speaker premium audio system. Other options include navigation, satellite radio, and HD radio. 

The Renegade's standard engine is a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 180-hp. There is an available 177-hp turbocharged 1.3-liter four-cylinder. These are both paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission. With the standard engine, the 2020 Jeep Renegade averages 22 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway. 

If you're into off-roading, the Renegade is an excellent choice. Even the base trim can tackle rugged terrain with ease. The Trailhawk trim is worth it if you off-road frequently, as it offers all-terrain tires, tow hooks, four-wheel drive, a traction management system, a higher ride height, and skid plates.  

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety issued its "Top Safety Pick" to the 2020 Renegade after Jeep announced improvements to boost protection in small frontal crashes.  The Jeep earned a four-out-of-five-star rating from the National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration. 

Optional driver-assistance equipment includes front parking sensors, adaptive cruise control, and parallel and perpendicular park assist. Other available safety features include blind-spot monitoring, automated emergency braking, lane-departure warning, and lane-keeping assist, and rear cross-traffic alert.  

The 2020 Jeep Renegade is available in four trim levels, including the Sport, Latitude, Limited, and Trailhawk. There are also three limited-edition trims: Upland, Altitude, and High Altitude. Let's break each trim level down in detail. 

This base trim includes the 180-hp four-cylinder engine, front-wheel drive, and a nine-speed automatic transmission. Standard is a rearview camera, Uconnect with a 5.0-inch touch screen, cloth upholstery, a USB port, a six-speaker audio system, and Bluetooth. You can add the Uconnect 7.0 Group, which includes a 7.0-inch touch screen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and satellite radio if desired. 

The Latitude builds on the base trim's standard features, adding the 7.0-inch touch screen, a second USB port, satellite radio, dual-zone climate control, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. You can opt for several available packages. The Advanced Technology Group adds safety features such as lane departure and forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control, and lane-keep assist. It also comes equipped with parallel and perpendicular park assist, automatic high-beam headlights, and front and rear parking sensors. The available Cold Weather Group adds a heated and leather-wrapped steering wheel, heated front seats, rain-sensing wipers, and a windshield wiper de-icer.  

Next up is the Jeep Renegade Limited, which comes standard with a 177-hp turbo-four engine, enhanced exterior and interior styling, leather upholstery, remote start, a heated steering wheel, and heated front seats. If you're looking for more features, you can add the Advanced Technology Group and Uconnect 8.4 NAV Group packages. 

The Trailhawk is the most off-road capable trim, featuring the turbo-four engine, all-terrain tires, full-time four-wheel drive, a higher ride height, skid plates, and tow hooks. Jeep's Selec-Terrain system is also available, allowing you to tailor your drive for Snow, Sand, Mud, and Rocks. Optional on the Trailhawk is the Premium Leather Group package, which adds an eight-way power-adjustable driver's seat, a trunk pass-through, heated front seats and steering wheel, bucket seats, and a windshield wiper deicer. The Uconnect 8.4 NAV Group package is also available. 

The Upland is similar to the Latitude in that it has a similar 4x4 capacity with skid plates. It adds cornering fog lamps and 17-inch painted aluminum wheels. The interior of the Upland comes with all-season mats and striking tangerine accents. 

The Renegade Altitude has 17-inch black aluminum wheels and adds supplemental turn signals to the mirrors. The engine capacity of this model is similar to the Latitude. Interior upgrades include vinyl door trims, deluxe cloth seats, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. 

The High Altitude is the highest trim level available for the Renegade, building on the interior and exterior styling enhancements added to the Trailhawk. The 8.4-inch touch screen, HD radio, and navigation come standard on this model, while the Advanced Technology Group package is an available add-on.
