There's never been a better time to buy a Jeep Cherokee, especially if safety is a priority for you and your family. That's because the 2020 Jeep Cherokee introduces advanced safety features across the lineup. There's plenty more on offer too, including two brand-new exterior paint options: Spitfire Orange and Sangria. Read on as we take a look at some key reasons why you should buy a 2020 Jeep Cherokee.
The 2020 Jeep Cherokee keeps the standard safety features of previous models such as a high-strength steel frame and the most airbags in its class. On top of that, it's added some new advanced features.
Your 2020 Jeep Cherokee will warn you when there is a vehicle in your blind spot. It will also warn you when another vehicle crosses your path when you're reversing.
If you're approaching another vehicle at full speed, your 2020 Jeep Cherokee will omit an audible chime to notify you, followed by a visual warning. If you don't respond, it will automatically brake for you.
If you unintentionally drift out of your lane, your 2020 Jeep Cherokee will provide an audible warning. If you don't respond it can automatically correct your course so that you return to your own lane.
A network of sensors works with the 4WD system to help you control your vehicle. It can automatically correct oversteer or understeer.
In addition to these advanced safety features, you also have the option to upgrade to include parking technology.
The three options are:
The 2020 Jeep Cherokee offers a diverse range of trim levels, each catering to different driving needs and preferences. The base Latitude trim comes with essential features like a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto, making it a solid choice for everyday driving.
The Latitude is the base trim and comes with a 2.4L I4 Zero Evap M-Air Engine with Electronic Start/Stop. It has a nine-speed automatic transmission and comes in a choice of seven exterior and two interior colors. Standard 2020 Jeep Cherokee features include LED daytime running lights, a 7-inch touchscreen display compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and front and rear climate control outlets. 17-inch painted aluminum wheels come as standard and there's also a 4WD option.
The Latitude Plus has the same engine and nine-speed transmission but comes in nine exterior color options. Beyond the standard Latitude features, you'll also find front LED fog lamps, power-adjustable driver's seat, and premium vinyl bucket seats. It also has additional upgrades available, such as a power liftgate, remote vehicle start, and cold-weather and trailer-tow add-ons.
The Latitude Lux is a newer trim level in the lineup, that falls between Latitude Plus and Limited. One of the most notable upgrades is the 3.2L V6 24V VVT Engine. As you'd expect from the name, the interior includes luxurious touches such as leather-trimmed interior, heated power-adjustable front seats, and a heated leather steering wheel as standard.
The Limited returns to the 2.4L I4 Zero Evap M-Air Engine but includes the same luxury interior as with the Latitude Lux. In addition, you have the option to upgrade to the Luxury group package which includes options such as a hands-free power liftgate and ventilated front seats.
If you're looking for options, then the Altitude has ten different exterior color options, the most of any trim level. It includes the Hydro Blue Pearl-Coat which is only found on the Altitude and Trailhawk models. The Altitude also comes with 18-inch Gloss Black 5-spoke aluminum wheels—an inch larger than on the Latitude models. There are Gloss Black roof rails and grill surrounds to match.
The key difference between the Altitude and High Altitude trim levels is that the High Altitude comes with a 3.2L V6 24V VVT Engine as standard. You also get 19-inch Granite Crystal aluminum wheels, GPS, HD radio, and a larger 8.4-inch touch screen.
The Upland is a limited-edition trim that allows you to black out your 2020 Jeep Cherokee with 17-inch Black Noise aluminum wheels, black roof rails, black tow hooks, and even black vehicle badges. It comes with a 3.2L V6 24V VVT Engine and your only option is a 4x4 powertrain. It has most of the features of the Altitude trim and adds in off-road wheel flares and steering-wheel-mounted audio controls.
Another trim level that is only available with a 9-Speed 948TE 4WD Automatic Transmission is the Trailhawk. It too is powered by a 3.2L V6 24V VVT Engine and as you might guess from the name, it's built for driving off-road. That means you get increased ground clearance over the other models as well as features such as hill-descent control and heavy-duty engine cooling.
The Trailhawk Elite adds some additional luxury touches to the Trailhawk. These include heated/ventilated front seats and a heated steering wheel. Both Trailhawk models come with Jeep Active Drive II 4x4 System which includes a 4x4 Low mode for extra low-speed traction when off-roading.
The North Edition is part of the Jeep North Edition limited edition range of vehicles that are designed with winter conditions in mind. These features include tow hooks, heated seats and steering wheel, all-weather floor mats, as well as all-terrain tires. The 2020 Jeep Cherokee North Edition comes with a 3.2L V6 24V VVT Engine and as you'd expect for a vehicle designed for winter conditions, is only available in a 4x4 powertrain.
